First beach trip

Didn't go as well as had hoped.  Michael's face is really red after the trip.  I think it's from the saltwater, or maybe too much sun.  We did our best to keep him in the shade as much as possible ... whoever was carrying him also held an umbrella.  Also, I held onto him and we sat together at the edge where the waves washed gently to shore.  I kept my arms around his stomach the whole time.  I wanted him to have a chance to feel the sea water under his feet, but didn't want to take him anywhere dangerous (like into the water).  He was basically getting a little bit of water that was washing up to shore.

He kept trying to crawl toward the water, and I'd carry him back, and he'd start crawling again.  After a few attempts of trying to get to the water and getting carried back by Daddy, he got upset and started screaming.  He didn't really understand that the Gulf is not the same as the swimming pool ... I can't judge what's 3 feet ... 4 feet, plus there are waves, so I had to keep him someplace safe.

Michael's very adventurous, does not have a lot of fear, and does not like it when he thinks we're "holding him back", even if it's for his own safety.
