Swimming Days
The weather is hot, so it's great to take Michael swimming. We've been taking him every evening. We usually like to take him after 6:30 PM, when the sun is no longer shining on the pool. I was talking with the gentleman who works at the Clubhouse (Michael always greets him and shakes his hand, he's learning to be such a polite young man), and he was telling me that someone brought their baby at 1 PM.
Wow, that poor kid, the sun is WAY too strong then. The parents probably didn't know any better. I always feel bad for babies and toddlers whose parents seem to be pretty darn oblivious. Like we saw a parent out with her kid in the jogging stroller around noon, and it was over 95 degrees out and blazing hot.
We always make sure not to get Michael too much sun, and try to take him outside in the late hours, or early in the morning. When we take him outside, we try to let him play on the side of the house that is not in the sun (our backyard faces east, so we have him play in the front in the morning, and the back in the evening).
