Sick for the first time
Michael got sick for the first time last week. I didn't have time to write any entries in his blog, too busy taking care of him.
It started on Thursday, 8/4, when he threw up that evening.
The next morning, Friday 8/5, he woke up and was running a fever. We took him to the pediatrician that morning, and they checked his fever at 100.2 F/37.89 C.
The doctor said it was just a common viral infection that little ones get, so we bought him some baby liquid Tylenol.
We gave it to him every 4-6 hours as instructed, but his fever got up to 104 F/40 C that evening around 9 PM. Scared the heck out of us, and we were ready to take him to the ER!
We gave him more tylenol according to schedule and watched his temperature and fortunately it went down.
The next day, it was quite a bit down, by Saturday 8/6 afternoon, he was back to about normal.
My wife and I had both taken Monday off work, and Michael seemed to be fine, so we took him shopping. When we got back, we lifted up his shirt to give him a bath and his whole body was covered with red spots.
I had a friend on Facebook mention Roseola so we googled that, and sure enough, that's what he had. Took him back to the pediatrician, she said he would be fine in a couple of days. Sure enough, he got better quickly, and by Thursday, he was pretty much normal.
