Ear Infection Follow-up
We took Michael back to the Pediatrician this morning. She checked his ears, said the left one still looks a bit red. She did say that it might be from him crying.
Honestly, I think his ears are fine.
She always seems to check the right one, then the left one. Well, by the time she's gotten to look in his right ear (which starts him screaming, tomato-red in the face), takes a moment, then goes to look into the left ear, he's had a good 90 seconds of pure screaming on the top of his lungs.
At least the doctor didn't give him any more antibiotics this time. She just said to try and get him to chew more, that should help open up the eustachian tube. That should be easy enough to do, he loves to eat.
We took him to Publix Supermarket afterward, got him a free cookie (they give free cookies to kids, probably so that the parents can shop in peace), and he spent the whole shopping time chewing away at that. I had promised him that if he was good during the doctor, we would get him a cookie. He's easy to bribe with food.
Still a bit leery as to whether the 2nd round that he had just completed was necessary or not ... I can't help but wonder if his left ear appeared red from him crying.
