Very articulate
Michael is very articulate for his age. A few days ago, I noticed something that makes him a great communicator.
We were at the park and there was a plastic dinosaur for kids to sit on and rock back and forth.
I asked Michael "Do you want to ride on the dinosaur?"
He replied softly, "No ride on dinosaur."
He had never heard the word "dinosaur" before (not to my knowledge at least), but quickly pieced together that it referred to the object in front of him.
Instead of simply saying "No", he explicitly said "No ride on dinosaur."
He tends to speak in this manner. He speaks in full sentences and will combine new words with phrases he already knows how to use.
I’m constantly amazed at the efforts he makes to very clearly convey his wants and desires. And he’s even calm about it (most of the time).
