First day of Daycare
Today is Michael's first day of Daycare!
We wanted him to get socialized and comfortable with other kids before starting school, so we enrolled him in part-time daycare.
Thus far, it has gone MUCH better than I ever imagined. We dropped him off at 8:30 AM. He went kicking, screaming, and crying, and tried to run out the door (the school's director caught him before he got out to the parking lot). They told us the best thing to do for him is to say goodbye, drop him off, and JUST GO.
So, that's what we did. We dropped him off and left.
I was in a meeting at work all morning and kept my hand on the cell phone, just waiting for the school to call me and say "I'm sorry, but your son is too difficult, you have to come get him NOW!" Much to my surprise, the phone stayed silent through the entire meeting.
I got a bit curious around 11:30 AM and called the school, and they said that he was doing fine, just sitting at a table, other kids were there, he wasn't crying or in distress. They were getting ready for lunch. I figured that is a good thing (he LOVES to eat, as long as there is food, everything is okay).
Wife called around 2 PM, asked when she should pick him up. They said 4:30 is a good time. Can't believe he is going to have made it through an entire 8 hour day, I am amazed!
