New York City Trip - Day 6
Sunday was a very nice, quiet day. Well at least as quiet as Sunday can be in Manhattan.
I woke up and felt better. We went to Grand Central Station so everyone could see the main terminal, it's really beautiful.
We ate at the food court there. Had Chinese fast food, kind of like the mall-style food courts.
We went to Times Square. Surprisingly, there were a lot fewer of the costumed people that entice tourists to take photos for tips.
I think the police have been cracking down on them.
Came back and took a nap this afternoon.
We woke up around 5 PM and my wife took her parents and little sister to Chinatown for dinner (back to Jing Fong Restaurant) while Michael and I had an adventure, back to Central Park to drive the model boats.
The kids needed separate time anyway ... they were fighting a lot in the hotel room during the afternoon.
So, I took Michael to drive the boats again. After taking the wrong subway exit and walking an extra 7 blocks, we got there with 5 minutes to spare.
We rented the model boats from 7 - 7:30 PM, but what was really cool was because they were closing, the guy let us drive the boats while he "rounded up" all the other model boats. So we got an extra 25 minutes. :-)
We took the subway back and somehow managed to arrive back to the hotel at the same time as the rest of the family were returning from Chinatown.
I got Chipotle takeout for me and Michael. We got a free meal from Chipotle's current promotions (they're trying to win back business).
He seems to really like Chipotle. He doesn't care for the Chinatown restaurant, just wanted Chipotle. It's good, if I get Chipotle, he'll eat by himself, as opposed to us trying to coax/coerce him to eat one bite at a time at the Chinese Restaurant.
